About us
An accountancy practice built the way we wished they all worked
Fixed fees you can see before you commit. Advice in plain English. Questions answered without a meter running. Vero Accounting exists because those three things shouldn't be rare.
Meet Anna
Anna leads all client work at Vero Accounting. Before founding the practice she spent years as a management and technology consultant, working on large programmes in global consulting and the energy sector — the same world many of our contractor clients work in today.
That background shapes how the practice runs. Consultants live and die by being clear, organised and straight with people, and that's exactly what you get here: your accounts done properly and on time, your position explained in words rather than jargon, and honest answers even when the honest answer is "you don't need to pay anyone for this".
More broadly, our team's background spans consulting and contracting, so we understand the outside-IR35 world our clients work in — not as a market segment, but from lived experience.
What we stand behind
- Fixed monthly fees — no surprise invoices, ever
- Supervised by HMRC for anti-money-laundering compliance
- Registered with the ICO (data protection)
- Professional indemnity insurance in place
- Making Tax Digital ready — we work with Xero
The fixed-fee philosophy
Hourly billing quietly poisons the relationship between an accountant and a client. It punishes you for asking questions — and the questions are usually the most valuable part. The moment a client thinks "I won't ask, it'll cost me", the accountant has failed at the job.
So we charge one fixed monthly fee, agreed before we start. It covers the compliance work and it covers the conversations. If a piece of work genuinely sits outside your plan, you get a fixed quote first and nothing happens until you say yes.
It's a simple model. It just requires actually meaning it.
How we work with you
Wherever you are
We work with clients across the UK — everything runs comfortably over email, phone, video calls and Xero. Distance has never made a tax return late.
Modern tools, kept simple
Your books live in Xero (included in your fee), which means you and we always see the same live numbers — and you're already set up for Making Tax Digital.
Part of Vero Business Group
Vero Accounting is part of a small family of Vero companies. Small enough that you always deal with people who know you; established enough to be here for the long run.
If any of this sounds like the accountant you've been meaning to find, we'd genuinely like to hear from you.
Many thanks,
Anna
